Guerlain introduces its exclusive Fall 2013 collection, Voilette de Madame. Voilette de Madame celebrates mystery and femininity, basing its collection on the idea of a mesmerizing veil that allows you only peeks into a Madame’s world. Rouge G de Guerlain is a sultry lipstick nestled inside a mirrored case adorned in a dotted Swiss veil. Its highly concentrated ruby formula illuminates your lips, coating them in a layer of mysterious seduction. –Guerlain
For me, the beauty brand that is synonymous with luxury is Guerlain. Chanel, Dior, Chantecaille and the like are certainly high end and and extravagant, but the one brand that tailors every aspect of its product from the formula to packaging for the utmost in feminine indulgence? That honour lies solely with Guerlain. Don’t trust me? Pick up one of their lipsticks or compacts. Just hold it in your hand and feel the weight and observe the craftsmanship. Everything is conceptualized to the finite detail. 
Voilette de Madame ranks as one of my favourite collections from the brand. The blush and glosses were divine but I really restrained myself and restricted my selection to two pieces. Guerlain’s lipsticks are amongst the most expensive on the market and for very good reason–their formula is like cream silk and the packaging is a chic compact that weighs more than my wallet. I chose Madame Batifole and Madame Flirte, limited edition colours of the Rouge G formula enclosed in a case screen printed with a dotted Swiss veil. It was whispering to my francophile coeur from across the beauty aisle and resistance was futile. 
Madame Batifole (860) is a vibrant opaque fuchsia with blue undertones (hello pearly whites!) and very fine micro-shimmer that is imperceptible on the lip aside from the radiant finish. Lightweight and moisturizing you wouldn’t expect it to be long wearing and smudge resistant but it is! This really is the perfect full coverage lipstick formula for those dry and cracked winter lips. I like to apply one thin layer as a stain and really work it in to my lips with a brush and then top off with another layer for the full effect. I can guarantee at least 4 hours of full impact with this technique and then by hour 6 I have a lovely stain left over to get me through the rest of the day. 
Madame Flirte (861) is a warm coral red that is a full coverage lipstick but not as opaque as Madame Batifole. The texture is ever slightly thinner but still moisturizing and creamy and I got the same wear time as Madame Batifole. 
There is one other Rouge G available with this collection, Madame Reve, but it was little too pink for my taste. I like vampier colours that I can slap on with a simple cream eyeshadow in the morning. In my opinion, it is a less intimidating red compared to the popular matte and satin formulas that are popular for fall and winter. 
Madame Flirte is slightly more coral than it photographed.
Overall, I’m in love and so happy to add these the drawer housing my other Guerlain babies. Rouge G lipsticks are expensive make no mistake, but if you are looking to treat yourself or a friend with a gift I would take a gander at them.
